RMS 5-8 Science
Predict the amount of snow we will get in inches. Then measure the amount of snow we have at a certain time. But use something besides a ruler or tape measure to measure. (Example a shoe or a piece of paper.)
Record the time and give a detailed description of how you measured and what unit of measurement you used. (Make up your own unit of measurement)
3. Record the data of your day. List each activity you do throughout the day and how long you spent doing it.
Example: Fixing and eating my breakfast - coffee and a breakfast cookie 30 min
Shower and getting dressed for the day - 1 hour or 60 min
Grading papers - 2 hours
Reading a book - 1 hour etc
Make sure you enjoy some time in the snow!!!
2. List each person in your house and how many shoes each individual owns. Find the mean of those numbers. (*remember to find the mean - add all the numbers and divide by how many you numbers that was added)
Example:
Reynolds 15 pairs of shoes
Husband 7 pairs of shoes
Killian 3 pairs of shoes
Add 15 + 7 + 3 then divide the answer by 3 because I have added three numbers together.
25 divided by 3 is 8 and 1/3

5th - 8th Math
Choose one of the following 3 activities:
1. Find 3 cylinder shape objects in your house and measure the height of each one. List the item and the measurement next to it. Example: can of food, can of pop, etc
Next find 3 rectangular prisms and measure the length, width and height. List each item and their measurements beside it. Example: kleenex box, cardboard box, box of cereal etc

Due to the inclement weather forecast predicting a wintry mix and snow, school is cancelled for Tuesday, February 18th. Students will complete the distance learning lessons they brought home last week.
We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions for the remainder of the week to determine if any additional closures are necessary.
Stay safe and warm. We hope you are able to have “snow much fun!”
