RMS 🏀 Friday, Feb 3 🏀 Boys will practice 12-2 🏀 Girls will practice 2-4 🚙 If it is not safe for you to drive your child to practice, please notify coaches or me so they will know.

RMS families, Even though a lot has melted today, the RM roads/hills are still not safe for buses and those who are not careful drivers. Temperatures are going to also cause many places to refreeze and be slick in the morning. 😢 RMS will remain virtual for Friday, February 3rd. Feb 2 5-8 Science, Mr. Hendrix 5th grade - write a couple paragraphs concerning what is being done to slow climate change. 6th describe how thermal and kinetic energy formed snow/ice. 7th grade - Venn Diagram compare and contrast a plant and animal cell. 8th grade - draw and label mitosis (include interphase, PMAT, and cytokinesis)

Feb 2 5-8 Math, Mrs. Reynolds Students we are going to use data from todays assignment and find the mean (average) of hours students had fun and then the mean (average) of hours students worked!!! Remember to find the mean or average - add all your numbers and then divide by how many numbers in your data set (10) Data: Hours of fun; 11, 9, 4, 6, 2, 7, 8, 5, 10, 8 Hours of work; 3, 2, 2, 2, 0.25, 2, 2, 1.5, 0.25, 2 You should have two answers one for fun hours and one for work hours. Text me your answers.

Feb 2 5-8, Mrs. J Using a piece of paper, fold and cut to make a snowflake. Using Personification(through the snowflake's point of view) tell me in one paragraph where you would like to land, and why you chose that spot. (remember to paint me a picture with your words by using adjectives and Figurative Language). When you return to school bring your snowflake, we will hang them up and decorate our room with them. Feb 2 4th, Mrs. Davidson Math- find items in your house that are examples of parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting lines Reading- read a fiction story and draw a picture of the main character, the setting, the problem, and the solution Writing- write six sentences that include a prepositional phrase Science- write a story pretending that you are an astronaut traveling to the moon

Feb 2 3rd , Mrs. Kimble Math- Show how to find the answer to 56÷8=?, 24÷3=?, 45÷5=?, 36÷6=?, 18÷2=? (draw a picture or skip count) Writing- Write 5 sentences using a conjunction (and, but, or) and correct capital letters and end marks. Reading- Read with someone and then talk about what you read. Science- Make paper airplanes and see whose goes the farthest.

Feb 2 2nd, Mrs. Avila Reading: Read a story to a parent or sibling. Have them retell the story to you. Writing: Write the steps to how to make a snowman using the words, first, next, and last. Math: Write the even numbers to 100; write the odd numbers to 100. Social studies: Name a community helper. Write 5 questions you could ask regarding their occupation.

Feb 2 KDG, Mrs. Vann Reading- Read for 10 minutes. Talk about, draw a picture, and write a sentence about the story setting. Writing- Practice Writing short I CVC( consonant vowel consonant)words. Rainbow write the words. Pig, dig, wig, sit, bit, kit, bin, tin, win, rip, zip, sip. Math- Talk about the different coins and their characteristics. For example, a penny is brown, a dime is the smallest coin, continue with nickels and quarters. If you have spare change sort coins into groups of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Talk about how much each coin is worth.
